Join us for the 2021 Executive Spotlight Luncheon where we will hear from Jose Iribarren General Manager of SSA Marine’s Jacksonville terminal at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal. Jose will share more about the company’s plans to improve the terminal to be able to accommodate up to 500,000 TEUs annually - a 150 percent increase over the facilities current throughput.
JAXPORT recently awarded a $48 million construction contract for the Blount Island modernization project which will cover the first seven of eight phases - or 77 acres - of the total $72 million, 93-acre capacity expansion project. It’s a project that in conjunction with the completion of the harbor deepening project will expand Jacksonville’s capacity to handle the growing demands of cargo owners and shipping lines.
Jose has spent 30 years of his career working on the waterfront. He joined SSA in 2003 working at international terminals in Chile and Panama.
Before that he spent time at Maersk Pacific working as a vessel planner and terminal manager in Oakland and Long Beach, as well as time with Panama Ports Company in Panama.
